BRIDGE HEEL BALM

Therapeutic indications

Bridge Heel balm is specially formulated to soften and repair rough, dry and cracked skin on heel and feet. Regular use is recommend to soften, soothe and seal the skin
 

Posology and method of administration

• For external use only.
• Adults and chidren over 12 years of age
• Massage into feet and heels twice daily for 7 days. For faster results, soak your feet in warm water before applying the cream and after applying the cream should cover the legs with nylon bags, then measure the socks.

Contraindications

• Skin tuberculosis, viral infections accompanied by dermal manifestations e.g. herpes simplex, vaccinia, chicken pox and measles. Syphilitic skin lesions. In concurrent mycotic infections, the cream should be complemented with antimycotic treatment.
• Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients

Special warnings and precautions for use

• Avoid contact with eyes. Irritation may occur in badly cracked skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use temporarily and consult a physician.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction

• Urea may enhance the efficacy of topical formulations of 5-fluorouracil and dithranol, and increase the release and the permeation into the skin of active ingredients from other topical products such as corticosteroids.

Pregnancy and lactation

• There is no specific data available regarding the use in pregnant women. In breast-feeding women, the product should be removed from the breast area before breast-feeding
• No harmful effect in the recommended usage

Effects on ability to drive and use machines

• Bridge Heel Balm has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Undesirable effects

• Hypersensitivity reactions to the ingredients or skin irritation in the treatment of acute inflammatory skin disorders are possible.
• Erythema, skin burning sensation and pruritus have been reported during postmarketing surveillance. Treatment must be discontinued in case of erythema, skin burning sensation, pruritus, rash or hypersensitivity reactions after application.

Overdose

• Intoxication after the use of Nutraplus is not known and is not to be expected due to the composition of the preparation. Skin irritation caused by overdose subsides quickly when the preparation is discontinued.

• Urea has keratolytic, anti microbial, anti pruritic and hydrating effects on the skin, properties also attributable to Lactic acid and lanolin. Higher strengths of urea are used to treat corns, callous, and some nail problems (e.g., ingrown nails). Urea is also used to help remove dead tissue in some wounds to help wound healing.
• Lactic acid is keratolytic. They increase moisture in the skin by softening/dissolving the horny substance (keratin) holding the top layer of skin cells together. This helps the dead skin cells fall off and helps the skin keep more water in.
• Lanolin is widely used in topical pharmaceutical formulations and cosmetics.
• Lanolin may be used as a hydrophobic vehicle and in the preparation of water-in-oil creams and ointments. When mixed with suitable substances, it produces emollient creams that penetrate the skin and hence facilitate the absorption of drugs. Lanolin mixes with about twice its own weight of water, without separation, to produce stable emulsions.

• Urea, lactic acid and lanolin are long established materials, whose pre-clinical profile is well known

Incompatibilities

• Do not mix with other preparations, as the effect on the stability of each is unknown. Do not pack in alloy containers as they may react with the lactic acid.

• Store below 30°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach of children
